Downtown Restaurant Reviews: Roosters Beak, The Place on Broad, and Frog Hollow Tavern

these reviews were emailed or posted as comments this week by readers:

Roosters Beak - 215 tenth

I just LOVE the Roosters Beak.  The Thai taco this week was the best I've had there.  The novelty ice creams just keep coming.  Very creativly done.  The bar staff is the best.  They have a topshelf margarita that can't be beat anywhere in the city.  DJ and Jonathan keep the kitchen cranking out new specials every week.  Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The Place on Broad - 1135 broad

wife and I tried this a couple of weeks ago, pretty sure 1100 block of Broad St just across from 1102 and up a bit - anyway, very good food, we were there one of their very first afternoon/ evenings, before their grand opening - bar along one wall (no T.V.'s but I guess sometimes you do want a quiet evening w/ just the wife) this place reminds me a lot of Malia's in Aiken would definitely recommend it for a quiet date nite-type evening/meal staff was very friendly.

Frog Hollow Tavern - 1282 broad

just a note for everyone...try Frog Hollow Tavern and soon!!! 1200 block of Broad St just a bit up and across from Pizza Joint excellent atmosphere, very good food, reservations recommended because it is not very large although wife and I had no problem sitting in bar area yesterday (Fri 8/20) evening. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Note: If you visit a downtown restaurant, shop, bar, event etc. send in a review/comments and some pictures and they will probably get posted.  You can email your reviews to vintage965@yahoo.com or message me on facebook www.facebook.com/claireriche

Thanks for Supporting Downtown Augusta!!!
